Building a Waterloo Table - Rethink

I'm thinking of reorganising this section of the blog into a section called "Building a European Table".

I like what I have done so far but recently a couple of simple images of simply built contour based tables have caught my eye.

Here are some of the images:

On top of that I have always been keen to try fabric such as suede and teddy bear fur but have always been too scared to try it as I feel it really needs painting or at least watered down coloured soaking to reduce the "toyishness" of the colours.

Also teddy fur needs to be trimmed very tight for 6mm.

So at this stage I am thinking of moving all the Building a Waterloo Table posts into Building a European Table and beginning and new series of posts where I use cork tiles with foamcore for contours and have a go at gluing down suede and teddy fur and building models out of each tile for the Waterloo Table.

I will go ahead and redo the 4 squares I previously did using cork tiles only and paint.

Stay tuned.

Some great terrain tables here.

Good luck with your own build.

If you're doing this in 28mm you need a medal. Building a 6mm modular table is hard enough but at least storage isn't much of a problem.
