Completed painting Adler 6mm French Legere Regiment

Well last night I painted a 25mm French Old Guard Grenadier in about the same amount of time I took a based and undercoated Regiment of 3 x Battalions of Adler 6mm Legere of 12 figures each.  Took about the same amount of time.  I am getting faster.

This time I undercoated one of the Battalions using a medium blue instead of black. I thought this may save some time but really it didn't help.  The blue was too light and left a gloss finish.  It also meant I now had to paint the shako.  No advantage really.

Here they are:

I reckon these look good, but one of the things I find really adds to the look - is a quick flesh-wash of faces and hands. For the complete OCD thing, then go back and highlight nose, chin and fingers.

I agree. These pics were taken prior to the wash being added as I forgot it before taking the pics.

They look pretty good. What rules are your Adlers mounted for and how many to a base?

Thanks. Myself and the 2 local groups I play in use Empire V. It has historical footprints with a 1:60 figure ratio so 2 figures are 1 company. A battalion of 12 figures is mounted 2 x bases of 4 and 2 x bases of 2. The 2 x bases of 2 are Voltigeurs and Grenadiers. Works very well.

One small thing that I believe will make a difference in the way they look... straighten the rifles/bayonets before you paint them. I know it's a pain but it will make the finished figures look more organized. Great job, by the way, Will
